Best woods cam for 103.

Nov 27, 2014 · 103 cam selection. I have a 2013 street glide with a screaming eagle breather and decatted exhaust. I want to change cams and get a little more out of the motor. keep in mind the stock heads and compression ratio and I want more low to mid cam. Very good bolt in for a 96", little undercammed for the 103" but produces great torque in every range and a wonderful cam for touring (with a little racing fun too). Very quiet and well mannered. Zippers 575 or Crane 290-2 or S&S 570 all come to mind so does a Wood TW6. All of these are available in chain drive but if the bike will be racking up miles I would go gear drive. If gear drive is prefered the Wood TW5 could work well too, but may be noisier than the rest. The TW6 is the only "Bolt-in" grind of these. The 107 is tempting, but a bit pricy - about 4k's. Out here in SLC, just installing the SE 255 cams (parts, labor & dyno) out-the-door will run between $1,175.00 and $1,337.00. The Stage II 103 kit will run between $2,012.00 and $2,090.00. For a difference of about $825 bucks, I think I'll go with the Stage II.

Cruster, I think the factory 103" motors use the SE 260 cam. While I'm no expert, the 203 is a mild cam for 88 and 95 inch motors, probably totally wrong for your 103. If I'm not mistaken, csoday used SE 251 cams in his 103" motor wth awesome results. csoday is in Iraq right now by you could earch for his posts.
